Neighbourhood Development Company

Neighbourhood Development Company (NDC) managed the New Deal for Communities Programme for Radford and Hyson Green – One of 39 government programmes across the country.

Nottingham NDC was awarded £55 million in March 2000 to make a difference to the lives of the 9000 people who live in the Radford & Hyson Green area, by working alongside them to change things for the better.

The programme was based around six key areas which shaped the work NDC does in partnership with the local community and the public and private sectors. These included:

•         Business and Employability

•         Education and Learning

•         Housing and Environment

•         Health

•         Community safety

•         Arts, Sport, Leisure and Culture

In 2006 NDC aligned its priorites with One Nottingham's Local Area Agreement (LAA).

Below are the main funding prorities for the final year, 2009/10  which took into account the achievements of the NDC programme so far and the current LAA targets:

  • Community Engagement, Empowerment and Cohesion

  • Physical Regeneration and Housing
  • Economic Development
  • Children and Young People
